Guest Relations Associate

Overview

  • Works closely with physicians, surgeons and OT team for managing and coordinating the patient schedules
  • Interact with patients for gathering details and counselling

Responsibilities

  • Schedules surgical cases to assigned medical employee, based on priority and medical emergency basis
  • Work with surgical scheduling team to ensure that all cases are scheduled in a timely manner and in accordance to the physician’s direction
  • Determine emergent cases and ensure that they are fitted into the surgical schedule on a priority basis
  • Seek approvals from physicians’ and schedule and follow up on post-operative visits
  • Interact with patients and families to facilitate accurate flow of information and ensure increased responsiveness
  • Work with patients’ insurance companies to obtain necessary documents and authorizations for payments for surgical procedures
  • Provide pre-operative instructions to patients and explain what to expect in recovery room

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality, public relations, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of customer service or hospitality experience
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to handle difficult situations with tact and professionalism
  • Knowledge of healthcare terminology and protocols
  • Fluency in a second language is a plus
  • Knowledge of local area attractions and restaurants
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency with computer programs such as Microsoft Office and customer service software
  • Ability to work well under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment
